Flooding at Eugene Field Park

Not exactly a surprise, considering today's 3.5 inches of rain at O'Hare nearly doubled the previous June 19 high of 1.79". In addition to the usual flooding on both sides of the river, unfortunately the park field house also had three feet of water in the basement. Let's hope it doesn't advance any further than it has already.

Someone cue the harmonica and Bonham on the drums...

Name change?

Albany Park Corners is nice, but may be too broad of a name now. We're looking for ideas for a new name for this blog, possibly one that captures the new focus on the area in and around Eugene Field. Post your suggestions/half-baked ideas here.

We'll walk from there to the CAPS meeting (Beat 1712) at the Fairmont Care Center, 5061 N. Pulaski . Come along for the walk and stay for the meeting too (they serve cookies and punch!) or watch for the discussion summary here.
